Kenya Power: 6% increase in net profit

Supported by increased electricity sales and a review of the electricity tariff effective at the start of December 2013, Kenya Power has posted an increase in net profit from KSH6.99 billion last period to KSH7.43 billion for the year ended June 30.

Following increased geothermal power consumption, transmission and distr
ibution costs increased from Sh22.7 billion to Sh24.2 billion while the fuel cost dropped by Sh13.1 billion to Sh25.8 billion. The companyalso increased interest income by 98.7 per cent.
